Hot Dam +n. Yepper it fired up this 2nd time around. Two compressions of the ram and it was toasting a fine char cloth ember. The first try, a couple days ago, and I was distressed but not out. Does not seem to work, it seems like a quality item but… I understand the principle behind a fire piston, but this does not seem to work after multiple attempts to do so. I have made new char-cloth, I have slammed the piston, pushed and quickly pulled it out. I have tried to the point of bruising my hand, still no success. The kit seems really nice, the piston and cylinder are sturdy, the kit contains extra O-rings, char-cloth, canvas, petroleum jelly, and instructions, but I am not having much success. Great fire piston at a great price!!!! Plus lots of extras!!!! Length:: 0:59 Mins What a great product! The fire piston is very well made and comes with a ton of extras! Big piece if charcloth, extra O-rings, extra material to make charcloth, some nice jimp tender material, grease, and a nice tin to carry it all in.
