Awesome basics! Some nice extras… Basic radio, but does it well–great audio on both receive and transmit; as a transceiver (getting signal in and out), it’s up to par with anything I’ve tested it against (Yaesu pricey stuff). This is on a watt for watt and antenna for antenna basis–so it’s a valid comparison.It also feels nice in the hand. For my tastes, it’s perfect.It’s not super-feature-packed, so if a kazillion features is what you’re after, look elsewhere. What additional features it does…
Very nice radio It was a pain to try to figure out how to open it up to recieved and send. I’m new with radios. But I downloaded chirp and used the uv r5 drop down instead of all the videos I watched that said go to bf f8hp and click that. Only issue is when you put the usb in you have to make sure when you connect the other end to the radio you wiggle it in and hold it because the connection isn’t tight enough..also the usb give it a wiggle. Not computer programmable Can not get the computer to read these radios. I even purchased the cable with drivers and it’s useless. First off I am experienced in programming many Chinese radios, Baofeng, Quansheng etc… Never had issues. After speaking “unsuccessfully” with customer service via email, I reluctantly ordered “their” cable and drivers. The disc had no drivers for the USB cable.
