The material is magic! After I finished fitting this on my bed, I laid on it for a while. I felt every nerve in my body do a little happy dance. The material is super comfortable and skin friendly! I really wish I could just sleep on it instead, because now my sheets feel so terrible in comparison. The padding is just a little, but enough for you to feel a difference. Decent price for decent results. Overall this is a bit thinner than I expected. Go to your bed and lie under your comforter, directly on the sheets. Then get up, flatten out the comforter, and lie down on top of the comforter this time.
