sounds great, works great. bought three, tested them all and they all transmit and receive audio just fine for me. there was some discussion in the reviews listed, that determined that a hole needed to be drilled into the receiver housing to increase the transmitting clarity and volume, or to avoid “the tin can” sound. I did not have this problem, so either they must have opened that portion up, or I got lucky.will update, I plan to use these heavily.
Revised pending replacement product – No transmit audio. *** FINAL UPDATE *** Angela at Retevis was as good as her word. The replacement microphone works as well. It is not as clear as some, but far better than any others in the under $15 price range. This is a hot mic, and needs to be held at least 8 inches from your face. Audio quality is good. The strength of this mic is the way it feels in your hand… Perfect for desk or mobile use. Signal reports reflect good, strong audio, without a lot of background noise. Overall, a great deal for the money…
Audio is very LOUD and BRIGHT. No headphone jack though. For just $9, this is probably the best you are going to get. The audio is very loud, bright, and clean. There is no headphone jack in this model. I made the mistake of assuming there was, but they don’t say there is so I’m not going to take a star off. They do, however, sell another model that does have a headphone jack. Since I work with satellites often, I’ll probably get that one. This one, since it was just $9 and works well, I’ll keep too.
