The Ross Root Feeder’s deep feeding fertilizer system is specially designed for watering and fertilizing below the soil’s surface, where most of the active roots grow. Simply connect a garden hose to the Root Feeder and insert a Ross Root Feeder Pre-measured Fertilizer tube into the chamber in the Ross Root Feeder. Turn on water at spigot. Turn on water flow valve slightly until a stream of water flows out the tip of the feed tube. As water saturates soil, insert Ross Root Feeder at equal intervals in ring under outer branches (drip line) of the tree or shrub. Never at the trunk of the tree or base of the shrub. If soil is dry, continue root watering after fertilizer has dissolved. Ross pre-measured fertilizer refills make for fast, easy and mess-free fertilizing. Perfect for drought weather, there is no runoff or wasted water. Just healthy, beautiful trees and shrubs all season. The Ross Root Feeder is available in two models, Model 1200D is a heavy-duty Root Feeder and Model 102 is an economy level Root Feeder.  Ross Root Feeder and Green-Again are registered trademarks of Easy Gardener, Inc.

Had to modify internal diaphragm to increase waterflow — a hassle but no big deal. Initially, only a small trickle of water come out the jets — maybe ~ 0.25 gpm. It was ridiculously small. So, I easily removed the inlet washer, plastic perforated wafer, and then the black rubber diaphragm, which has a pin-sized perforation in the center nipple (it looks solid, but it’s not — hold up to the light and you can see a pin-sized hole). The water flows through here. I cut the hold to make it ~ 1/8″ in diameter. No problem with water flow now…..it easily flows 3-5 gpm,…

Not quite as rugged as I would prefer, but OK Funny how root feeders come in and out of favor with radio garden guys. I had one years ago and used it until it broke. My builder-special oak saplings grew faster and bigger than my neighbor’s. 26 years we lived in that house, and when we moved, our trees were still bigger than our neighbors’ trees. Then I read that trees are really surface feeders, so root feeding was at best a waste of time and money and at worst counterproductive. The surface-feeding notion made a lot of sense. After…

Very Very low water flow. They ruined this product. Terrible water flow. I have an older version of this same Model. The water will shoot 6 to 8 feet with my older one (out of the ground) … 6 to 8 inches with the new one’s I just received. Why did they take such a good product, and make it 10x crappier? It’s also about 3 inches shorter, but that isn’t such a big deal, the water volume is a huge huge deal. If you can find their older version of this same model, buy that one.———————————————————–…
