Will be buying more I read the reviews that said this was very flimsy, and i would have to disagree. This is smaller than i was originally thinking, but when you are carrying all of your supplies on your back, this would be considered adequate for one person. I would consider the handle attachment to be the week link. I could see the eating surfaces lasting forever. I find some frustration in the fact that all camping gear is over priced

Good replica mess kit Great piece of kit, but the metal does get scratched up fairly easily. Then again, this is supposed to be a reproduction WWII combat mess kit, so I highly doubt that the GIs kept these things in absolute pristine scratch proof condition as they were fighting through Africa, Europe, and the Pacific Islands. Can be used as a show tray, a frying pan, or a deep-dish for things like stew or pasta. My biggest problem with it is that it SHOULD come in a cloth bag, either canvas or nylon, to protect it…

Packs easy into your bag Well the gage thickness isn’t that of military issue, but is more than sufecient. Packs easy into your bag. Keep all your chow stuff in it the lid makes a great muffin/corn bread pan. To be honest I only cook for myself, so I use this just about every day. Ive had it for about a year, it has gotten a lot of daily use This design has been around for ever. Great for backpacking, hunting, camping, or just frying up some BnE’s for breakfast on the stove. definetly the better, and to me the best…
