Excellent Protection in Rugged Terrains Purchased these for a 10-day trip across Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce National Parks. They were shown online to be true-to-size when compared with the athletic Adidas line, whose fit I am familiar with. The Saloman Men’s X ULTRA PRIME fit perfectly lengthwise, however I felt they were a smidge tight in the width. The insert made the inside bottom fit very comfortable, but not sure that I could wear these shoes without one.The outer sole is tough, durable, and held up against…
Somehow I already knew they’d be perfect. Went to Vasque hiking shoes a couple of times and I’m back. I don’t think I’ll be switching again any time soon. I do like Asolo too, but they’re pretty damned pricey.These are solidly constructed shoes. There’s no doubt about that. Right out of the box I put them on and I’ve, pretty much, worn them since. Saloman X Ultra Prime Fits great and comfortable. Took them on a 12 mile hike through hiking trails, technical rocky terrain, mud and rain. They aren’t advertised as waterproof but kept my feet reasonably dry for the conditions. They have plenty of cushioning in the heal and sole of the shoe for rocky terrain but not too think so you can still get a great hold on the rocks. Overall a great show for light hiking.
