High quality sock. I took three pairs of these socks on my thru hike of the JMT last summer. The performed flawlessly. Kept my feet warm and dry and helped prevent blisters. I appreciate that they stay up on my calves and withstood hundreds of miles with no tears. I’ve switched to exclusively wearing wool at this point for both work and play. I love how these socks never stink and my feet don’t feel sweaty after a full day of hiking or working.
Something has changed. These are not the same quality they used to be. The first time I discovered Smartwool socks I thought that I had died and gone to heaven. The socks were so incredibly comfortable, fast drying and odor resistant I couldn’t believe that I had worn and suffered through plain cotton socks for so many years years.
Not what they used to be I have a couple old pairs of Smartwool socks that have lasted ten or more years of traveling and hiking around the world. Multi-day hikes in a constant downpour in New Zealand – my feet were the only dry and comfortable part of me.
