The Elite Entrenching Tool has an overall length of 26 inches and a closed length of 10.2 inches. Made of durable 1075 Carbon steel, this shovel head has excellent edge retention and rust resistance. This tool has a weight of 24.8 ounces and comes with an attractive hardcased black finish.

… service I can honestly say that I would not recommend this for deployment Having used several E-Tools in my service I can honestly say that I would not recommend this for deployment. It has a good idea to it but the sturdiness of the handle and the design is not recommended for trying to dig trenches or a fighting position. For simple camping/survival this is ok for that use, but I would not say that I will use this for anything else.
Perfect package Ordered this item which arrived quickly. Took it out the following weekend and used to build a bush craft shelter with my 11 year old son. Tool was sturdy, and felt good in my hands. The extension handle and shovel head are the perfect size when used as a digging tool unlike some where a person would be better off using their own two hands. (they are the same size where the mount into the handle) I have used the saw to take down an annoying branch in a friends yard I own both this an the Glock E-tool, which is VERY similar. The SOG offers some improvements in design overall, but appears to be made of a slightly lighter metal. the lower section of the handle is more ergonomically fitted to the hand, making the saw extension easier to usethan the glock. The saw is an aggressive tooth “bowsaw” type blade, where my glock tool is more of a “bone” saw blade. I think this saw is much more aggressive and fast cutting in wood, but the glosk saw is…
