A good small shovel for small tasks This is a convenient and fairly sturdy shovel/pick combo that is good for backpacking. To call it a “trenching tool” is a stretch. It’s quite small so don’t expect to dig any holes larger that a couple of feet across/deep. The shovel blade is only 6 inches x 4.5 inches and the pick is only 4.5 inches in length so you won’t be moving a lot of earth very quickly. The tool is full metal construction with a black painted coating that will likely scratch on first use.
It’s great for the price! There are a lot of complaints on this shovel. Here’s my take, the cost is extremely low especially if you catch it on sale like I did. For the price, this is a great shovel. Of course it’s not meant for digging 3 foot deep holes in hard ground. It’s a small compact shovel meant for small compact jobs! Again, just my take but I think it’s great for the price! Not what you expect or it claims to be I am rather disappointed with this product. I encourage people to read the product reviews and look at the product description better than I did.
