The SOG Specialty Knives & Tools FF11-CP Salute is a progressive and performance driven folding knife that is affordable with a little perseverance. Made of 8Cr13MoV steel with an attractive hardcase black finish, the 3.625-inch straight edge, folding blade has a clip point shape that that allows a quicker and deeper puncture upon insertion, sharpens easily and makes quick work of any task. This knife features a Lockback to provide additional safety while the knife’s being used in the open position. The ergonomically contoured and well balanced handle has a black finish and is made of G10 reinforced fiberglass with a no-slip texture that will fit comfortably in your hand. Caring for Your Folding Knife
Keeping your knife clean, dry, oiled and sharp are the primary defenses against corrosion, wear, and potential injury. Be sure to clean the blade and handle after each use–however, do not soak your knife in water. A mild solution of soap and water should remove any dirt and debris that may have accumulated during use (avoid harsh detergents such as laundry or dish soap, and chlorine products). To remove any debris from inside the handle you can use a toothpick for any visible lint or dirt, or a Q-Tip for smaller amounts of dirt and debris.
After cleaning or after exposure to moisture be sure to completely dry your knife blade and handle, taking special care with any sensitive handle materials. Use a soft cotton cloth or chamois and a small amount of moisture-displacing oil (such as WD-40 or 3-in-1), on the blade only, to prevent water spots and oxidation from forming.
Fingerprints and weather are the primary causes of rusting or corrosion on a knife blade. To keep your knife looking its best, SOG recommends that you give your blade a light coat of oil after each cleaning, and prior to long term storage. Be sure to also apply a Paraffin-based oil to the pivot point, which will not only keep the action of your blade smooth but will repel dirt and debris which could impede the blade’s action.

Favorite knife Honestly, this knife was my favorite. Doesn’t open as quick, slightly heavier, not as expensive as some of my other sog knives, but it just feels good in your hand. It loosens up after a while. Had the one with the satin finish. Lost it. Bought the new one with the coated finish. Same knife,it just looks more sinister (if you know what I mean). SOG is my Standard For a little bit of background, I’ve been a blade connoisseur since my grandfather started teaching me how to make my own 15 years ago. I’ve had Smith and Wesson blades, Cold Steel, Winchester, Buck, Ka-Bar, Gerber, CKRT and SOG. My first SOG blade was instantly my favorite blade, and I’m happy to say they have continued to impress.
