Spot on directions Tried this at my house where I already knew what was due north, south, east, and west. Out of the pkg it immediately went to the proper direction. Came with instructions to use with a map. Glad to see that as I have never used a map alongside a compass before.
Not Liquid Filled Don’t know if I got a fake or not, but this compass is not liquid filled despite what the packaging or Suunto’s website says. For those saying that the liquid is clear and free of bubbles, all 7 of the compasses I received do not bend a laser beam. I can’t believe that the liquid does not have an index of refraction.
Never get on the Trail Without It A very basic baseplate compass and that is exactly what Iâ wanted. Small, lightweight and best of all accurate. Keep it in the pocket of the waist strap on my backpack while on the trail. Comes with a lanyard long enough to hang around your neck if you wanna roll like that. Sturdy little sucker too have dropped it and stepped on it once and it still points north. Stop stressing and pick this one up
