Perfect small camp axe/hatchet. Got this to chop kindling for campfires, it works absolutely as it should. I did not notice any bends or nicks in the blade, but I also made sure only to hit the wood, not rocks or other objects. The flat side is perfect for hammering tent pegs into the ground, as well. The protective “sleeve” for the edge of the blade is easy to lose, however and I suggest you find a sheath or some sort of carrier that will cover the blade while you carry it around. Nice hatchet well worth the price . This is a nice hatchet bought it for hiking and camping .Has lanyard hole and can be fastened to backpack with carabineer . Light and sharp feels good in my hand . Like this very much . Tabor tools sent me an e-mail telling me they back their product not many companies do that . 100 % satisfied and would buy again . Nice little carpenter’s hatchet Nice little carpenter’s hatchet. I picked this hatchet because I liked the weight and head design for my uses. This is a good design for limbing, chopping and carving. It is narrow in the middle so not great for splitting having minimal wedge. I sharpened it (badly needed), reprofiled the cutting edge a bit and partially polished the blade.
