These shoes are a winner for me! I bought these shoes as walking/hiking shoes, not running shoes. I think they would be too clunky for running. I am happy with the purchase. These are weatherproof, as well as sturdy and well-made. They are comfortable and I do wear thicker socks with them. Comfortable and Waterproof!! I bought these at the last minute for a trip to Scotland. I had a lot of hiking planned and hadn’t been able to find a comfortable pair of waterproof hiking shoes. I had decided to wear my comfortable non-waterproof sneakers instead, until I found these. With no time to break them in I hesitantly brought them along to Scotland. These shoes are comfortable! I received speedy and excellent feedback via email from CS (customer service) on helping select the correct shoe size as 1) I have an atypical foot profile 2) the size I wear was noted as running large. The shoe size recommended by CS is the right fit. VERY comfortable shoe. No breaking in required! Wear & go. Will be testing the waterproofing feature in a subtropical environment in two weeks.
