Highly recommended These are excellent hiking socks. I wore them during a Hadrian’s Wall path hike. The weather was wet (usual for Northumbria) and muddy. I wore a pair of polyester dress socks underneath (an old trick I picked up in the service back in the 80’s, kids) and together they worked fine. There is an appropriate amount of padding on the bottom and they managed to breath well in the few moments of sun and dry air. Not Wearing Well I haven’t purchased Thorlo socks in some years and the quality isn’t what I remember. I purchased these socks for a recent vacation to Maine where we hiked/walked approximately 15 miles a day. During this trip and the first month or so these sock were great. I’ve had them for about 3 months now and they are starting to stretch and not return to their original size. Never ever underestimate the power of a good sock! These are incredible socks. Very very comfortable and they can make all the difference in a long day with work boots. Don’t EVER underestimate the comfort of a good quality sock! They are just as important as good well fitting shoes.
