Waterproof & Comfortable!!!! So I bought these boots for my trip out west to Yellowstone, the Black Hills and the Badlands. They arrived only a few days before I left so they had no break in time. I was pretty worried that my procrastination may result in a ruined trip, however, They were amazing! I did wear them with hiking socks but I never got a blister and I was hiking up to 8 mile per day for 3 weeks. We hiked some pretty steep hills and mountains and the boots did great. Would recommend going up half a size They look great and I can tell that they’re excellent quality. However, after reading the reviews about these being true to size, I went ahead and ordered the usual size that I wear in other shoes, which is a 6.5, but I wish I would have ordered a half a size larger because my toe hits the boot very harshly. Archaeology! Update 9/13/2016 — These boots successfully survived 2 weeks of field school in rural North Carolina and 6 weeks on an island in Spain. That’s long wearing time, every day usage. I still find these boots to be extremely comfortable and supportive. The island I was working on in spain and somewhat rugged terrain and these no doubt saved me from rolling my ankle on more than one occasion. The traction was great for hiking along seaside cliffs.
