Very Nice Boots! LOVE them! I wear a 7 1/2 – size 8 works better with boots. Went to a local shoe store to try them on and purchased them for $20 less on Amazon. Purchased a size 8 – fit perfectly but better with thick socks, which was my intent. I replaced a pair of Dexter hiking boots that I’ve had for 18 years (I very obviously do not use them for hiking). Archaeology! Update 9/13/2016 — These boots successfully survived 2 weeks of field school in rural North Carolina and 6 weeks on an island in Spain. That’s long wearing time, every day usage. I still find these boots to be extremely comfortable and supportive. The island I was working on in spain and somewhat rugged terrain and these no doubt saved me from rolling my ankle on more than one occasion. The traction was great for hiking along seaside cliffs. Hiked Kilimanjaro in these, no problems whatsoever. I summited Mount Kilimanjaro in these with no problems whatsoever. We hiked through part of a jungle and a long way through arctic desert — these kept me comfortable the entire way, not a single blister despite intense hiking 7-9 hours every day for seven days. We water-proofed our boots before we left and I didn’t experience any leaks. I live in Minnesota and wear these in the winter too.
