Rechargeable and you have to try the AUTO ON sensor mode The main feature of these lights is the sensor mode, which turns the unit on and off by waving your hand in front of it. There are two settings for it. The extra features are the Red LED and the different brightness modes. I wish that all of these lights had a setting for starting from either Red or Low beam and increase it, instead of starting bright and lower it. At night, it makes more sense. They are bright and extremely useful. Wish the plastic was a little more solid.
love it I have been using the Harborfreight ones. These are a big upgrade; like ten times. They look good too. I like the floodlight mode. It illuminates a wide area at lower brightness; the flood light mode has a nice yellow tint to it. Also rechargeable; which is great. Just used it outside at night to take battery out of my car using this lamp alone in floodlight mode and I was able to work as efficiently as I would in day time. Not having a top strap makes them more comfortable in my opinion.
The best head lamps I have purchased! I am the de facto mechanic for my whole family so I find myself on my creeper late at night under someone car dead and deserted in a lonely parking lot. So a good head lamp goes a very long way with me. I have purchased a few different ones from big box stores. They were either horribly uncomfortable or they broke and were returned in a heartbeat.
