Great Jersey axe for the money! I bought the Jersey pattern head. I’m very satisfied with the grind of the head and the steel used. It took only about 10 minutes to put an edge on it that would pop hairs using a file and sharpening puck. I had no problem with edge rolling when putting a very fine edge on it with sharpening stones either. The handle is good and grain was fairly straight down the handle. The hang of the head is great. Good squeeze out of wood at shoulder and 100% contact all around. I couldn’t have hung it any…

Let me put it this way, if you split wood occasionally for the fireplace or when camping this ax is probably perfect for you. If you are starting a business that requires wood splitting you might want to go with Husqvarna. I rarely need to split wood, honestly I just wanted a double headed ax to use while camping because they look cool. Very low quality This is a solid but poorly made axe. The workmanship is so bad that it worse than many products from China (this axe was made in Mexico).
