The compact Compass 2 stand from Twelve South can go anywhere you take your iPad. Engineered from steel and soft silicone, this beautiful stand holds your iPad, iPad mini or iPad Air in your choice of two different modes. Upright as an easel, Compass displays your iPad in portrait or landscape orientation, which is great for watching movies, iPhoto slideshows, or paging through a cookbook. Flip down the secondary leg and Compass becomes a handy workstation that angles your iPad to the perfect position for typing emails or updating your Facebook status. Once you’re done, fold up Compass and store it in your computer bag or backpack.

Better than V1 I like this stand. However, two features make it less than optimal for me: 1) The rubber/plastic ‘holders’ to keep my iPad Air from slipping when I am using ‘Touch’ to navigate, are not secure enough. I have rigged a solution that solves the problem (stiff polyethylene twist ties) that forms a sufficient lip to keep my iPad Air in place. 2) The stand, when folded out, is a bit too narrow for me. It is not as stable as V1 (in my opinion).

Perfect for my needs and works very well! This is the stand to have!It breaks down and can easily be slipped into pocket or purse. It does contain a little travel pouch and fits it like a glove. For Stability it does offer two viewing orientations and does allow two different angels of view which works well (well at least for everything i am using it for). It worked well for the following devices, see the device and test results below:* iPhone 5 thru 7 plus – Works well and is adjustable for the width of…

It’s true you can destabilize it if you’re pressing the home button with force in landscape orientation without putting your fingers against the back, but that doesn’t strike me as a serious design flaw, just a limitation of physics. The stand would have to be wider and…
