Look what I have created… I have made Fire! I have not used a flint and steel in so long and I could never get the thing to work easily… Not so with this one.. the included striker works and once you get through the coating it will throw a sparkMy steel pocket knife with a 90* edge makes this thing sizzle. Money well spent
Really Is Better I have about 10 ferro rods and some are ok, most of the cheap ones really do not work well. I decided to gamble and spend 10x the price for one of these. Shock of shocks, it really is substantially better. It is easier to throw sparks and throw more sparks. Also, my Hinderer in S35VN really throws a lot of sparks with this flat surfaced rod, even more than the striker included. This is one of the things in life that cost way more, but are worth it. BEST Ferro rod ever!!! Uberleben is the best Ferro rod I have ever used. Massive shower of molten metal. (see my ferro rod video on you tube Ochoco Bushcraft). This new Hexagon fire starter is the best of the best! Very impressive and easier to use and hold.
