Brings me back… This knife brings me back to my youth. My uncle would take me to the military surplus store when I was 7, at that age I wanted the Frost Cutlery bowie, or the Schrade with the pseudo stag. This was a time of simplicity and blissful ignorance, I had no idea these knives were mediocre. This knife is decent for the price. Wow I’m actually impressed.. I read a lot of negative reviews on this knife, but figured for 22 bucks shipped I would give it a shot.. This knife is just as good of quality as the old USA made pro hunter, it’s solid, has a wicked edge and has a rat tail tang. The brass is perfect and it feels like it will hold up for years to come, ignore the negative reviews and get yourself one!
Schrade171UH (Quality Slips) I purchased an original 171UH 35 years ago, I have used it for hunting,skinning deer and javalina, chopping camp wood and so on. I bought a new one due to the collectabilty of the schrade USA knives. Upon recieveing the knife on the 1st of may I began checking it over.
