Have Used For Years – Very Good For Fire Starting I have used WetFire tinder for many years as a means to start a fire in the woods, or at home. It’s easy to shave a little bit amongst other tinder, and get more material going. With any kind of spark or ember, I can get a flame more consistently with WetFire shavings than from any other commonly carried tinder (charred cloth, cotton balls with Vaseline in candle wax, birch bark, magnesium shavings, tinder fungus or dryer lint). Only thing that saved my a$$ starting a fire in … Only thing that saved my a$$ starting a fire in the Hoe rain forest, during a tercentennial down pour. I suggest sticking it on the end our your knife, lighting it, and then moving it around to light up different parts of your well prepared tinder / kindling.
It Works It was intended for our go-bag (emergency only), but we went camping and I’m one of those guys who can’t get newspaper to ignite… Anyway, after fighting the campfire for too long, I pulled one of these out and lo and behold, I had a campfire! It’s an excellent product.
