About Victorinox
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener’s mother, and “inox,” or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

The third is blue sapphire, blue was the color that I always wanted, and after 40 years I have finally got it. The covers are translucent not solid but does not detract from the appearance of the tool. These pocket knifes are still well made and perform a…

Pretty good The tool line-up is very useful. I do not miss the #2 Phillips screwdriver, lots of people complain about that not being there. The tip of the can opener works for Phillips screws as long as they’re not super tight. If it’s that tight, you need real tools anyway. The corkscrew is useful for more than just opening wine bottles too. Very good at loosening up tight knots.

Best Overall Swiss Army Knife! I did a lot of research into the different types of Swiss Army knives to see which one I would use the most. I originally bought the Pioneer Alox Silver knife because I liked that its the same model that the actual Swiss Army soldiers used from the 60’s up till now. This knife is almost exactly the same as the Spartan in terms of size. It’s big and has two slots with tools. The Pioneer comes with a large blade, can opener with screwdriver, bottle opener with screw driver and sharp pointed edge…
