About Victorinox
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener’s mother, and “inox,” or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

A great multitool BUT please read the bottom of my review for a SERIOUS gripe! I love this multi tool and I have been using a variety of Swiss Army and Victorinox hybrid tools systems for well over 35 years. I really can not add anything new to sing its praises which hasn’t really been sang about this wonerful multitool hundreds of times in its reviews whether on here or other site.I bought this version (there are three slightly different version of this item) because having a pair of scissors was much more important to me than to have a serrated knife or to…

Old lady on a farm swears by this tool. I’ve had this tool for 6 years and use it almost daily. You’ll laugh to hear all I use it for (and when I make sure I’m not carrying it). First off it’s important to say that every tool included is useful, plus the tool handle is comfortable to hold for serious work. I’ve tried others including my son’s Leatherman, but this one is the best by far. As my review title says, I’m old, and am a lot less sturdy than this tool. When I see something that needs doing when I’m outside, I do not want…

Victorinox Spirit X For those seeking the short answer; I can’t imagine anyone not liking this tool. Whether it is for yourself, a gift for a friend, or to hand out to employees who might be tasked with various small jobs requiring a variety of tool functions. It’s beautiful, functional, durable, and priced competitively. To the specifics: Even though there are many reviews, I had some difficulty comparing size between this model and the straighter, full-sized model which is also available at…
