The tool is made of 100 percent stainless steel, with a pair of durable plier handles that fold up neatly when not in use. The only other multitools I have to compare it to are a Leatherman Wingman and a Schrade Tool, and the SwissTool X is noticeably heavier, probably due to the use of heavier duty stainless steel (to be fair, the Leatherman and Schrade are significantly less expensive). Timeless Engineering and Design Absolutely beautiful. After 2 decades, it still remains one of the premier multitools. This is superior engineering that stands the test of time. Baring any future errors in sharping the knife, this tool will probably last a century or more as long as it is not incorrectly used and abused.
