Welcome to Woolly Mammoth Woolen Company. Our signature wool blankets are designed to mix timelessness and comfort into your life.
Our Explorer Collection wool blankets are inspired by outdoor adventures. These are the perfect wool blankets for adding a layer of insulation during chilly nights under the stars, getting cozy at the campsite, or storing in your vehicle for emergency preparedness.
QUALITY AND DURABILITY
From the cabin to the great outdoors, our blankets are there to keep you comfortable and warm. This blanket is woven with 80% virgin Merino wool / 20% nylon polyester blend. And with our large 66″ x 90″ size, you can fit more than just yourself in there.
THE BETTER WEAVE
The Explorer Collection wool blankets are woven using a twill weave. Soils and stains are less noticeable due in part to the subtle diagonal texture. We use a long staple that is tightly spun to minimize poking and itching.
FINISHING TOUCH
Our Explorer Collection wool blankets have a milled finish, which means there is inter-fiber felting and fabric consolidation, thereby creating a denser blanket. The edging of this blanket is double-stitched using a thick polyester thread intended to withstand years of use.
WHAT’S THAT SMELL?
Well…it’s wool! Lanolin oil is found naturally in sheep wool and may be noticeable by those with an acute sense of smell. Although rare to pick up on, this scent is a testament to the wool’s purity. Please note: Woolly Mammoth Woolen Company blankets have not been treated with a chemical flame retardant.

Just okay, but still a good value. I ordered one each of the Blue, Gray and Green. Right out of the box, all of them are very paper thin like compared to any other wool blanket I’m accustomed to. The gray blanket is loaded with what are commonly known as guard hairs. This isn’t to be taken lightly, I mean it is loaded. The blue and green do not have these hairs. Some hair is expected, the Gray is ridiculous. No matter what the manufacture says, I wash all of my wool blankets, pants and coats at least once when I receive…
Its pretty good! I didn’t receive this blanket for free or at a steep discount for an honest unbiased review. Nope I paid my hard earned money for this sucka and Ive put it through its paces. Wool blankets are very subjective Just because I personally like this one doesn’t mean you will. With that being said the reasons I like it so much are because its very soft, thin but dense, and its huge. The blanket is itchy and takes some getting use to, but My Beagle and I have adjusted quite nicely. I’ve tried…
Quality wool blanket! Soooo warm! Not itchy at all, at least for me. Not too heavy. This seems to be a very high quality wool blanket considering the price. Some reviews have talked of a âsmellâ, ya, but it smells like a wool blanket should.. Virgin merlino wool would tend to carry a smell. Itâs not overly strong or unpleasant. This blanket is definitely worth having. I will get a multiple of uses out of it.
