Xpedition Gear’s Hudson Bay Style Campcraft axe is ideal for light splitting and cutting around the campsite, trail and home. This axe is forged out of high quality 1060 carbon steel, hand sharpened and has a tempered bit hardness of Rc 48-55. The steel axe head is coated with a clear lacquer to help prevent rust and is attached to the handle with a traditional wooden wedge and round steel pin. The 18 inch handle is made of American hickory and is dried to below 10% moisture content to prevent loosening. The Campcraft series of Xpedition Gear axes are manufactured at an American axe makers facility with over 130 years of experience. Given the use of natural materials, color and texture may vary slightly.
