Xpedition Gear’s vintage inspired, compact camping axe serves as a blend between a traditional axe and a hatchet. Weighing 2.5 pounds and 17 inches in total length, this axe is compact enough to be strapped to a pack and carried all day, yet rugged enough to handle duties around the campsite. The 7 inch axe head is made of carbon steel and has a 5 inch cutting edge. A premium leather sheath is included to protect your axe for years to come. The thick leather sheath is designed to have a premium, snug fit and will gradually stretch over time. This process can be accelerated with heat. Remove the leather sheath by grabbing the top portion of the axe head and roll the leather up and off approximately 90 degrees. To place the leather sheath back on. Aim for the upper corner and snap in place.

Great look, a little disappointing. From the previous reviews and price I gladly purchased this axe. Eagerly excited opening the package axe looks great good size, nice weight to it, the sheath is wonderful but the axe head itself was crooked and curved the blade was not sharp at all so it was disappointing for such and great looking axe for the head to look so, cheap.
I split some scrap wood to use as tender for a nice fire the day it arrived I received this product within just a few days of ordering. My experience with ordering from Amazon has been very positive this far. The wooden handle adds weight. While not an issue for me others may want to be mindful of this. Decent at Best Decent quality. The heads are not ground as I would prefer, the shaping around the heads is fairly inconsistant. The leather sheaths are very nice. These are all of 2.5lb compact axes. I have a 30″ camp axe that I bought from Fleet Farm that is sharper, swings better, and weights exactally the same. It did not come with a leather sheath but was approx. half the cost of this. I did end up returning a majority of these that I ordered. The service I recieved was great so no issues there!
